Holy Rosary Church Tour

March 10, 2019 by nocsia

We had the opportunity to spend a Saturday afternoon (March 16, 2019) learning about William P. Ginther, Ecclesiastical Architect, when touring Little Italy’s Holy Rosary Church with author Anthony (Chip) Valleriano, who published a book (2012) that serves a compendium of the late architect’s work.

Ron Petrie led a headstone walking tour of the final resting places of Cleveland’s Industrialists.

The day’s agenda was as follows:

Time/Location:

12 p.m. — Meet (optional) at Presti’s Bakery Cafe, 12101 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, for buy-your-own lunch (informal and inexpensive)

1:30 p.m. — Meet at Presti’s Bakery Cafe for a walking tour led by Ron Petrie of the Lakeview Cemetery headstones representing Cleveland’s Industrialists (or enjoy a self-guided stroll in Little Italy, University Circle or Lakeview Cemetery)

*3 p.m. — Meet at the front doors of Holy Rosary Church, 12021 Mayfield Rd., proceed inside for the author-led tour of church, followed by presentation on its architect William P. Ginther

5 p.m. — Stay for church service (optional)

Fee: FREE. The optional lunch is your only expense, if you choose
