President Barrow reviewed the report of the October Planning Meeting. Subject Committees have been formed to help plan tours and speakers on industrial archeology topics. The newly elected executive board will coordinate events dates with these committees. Frank Wrenick reported on possible tours this spring and summer. Jim Wickert agreed to lead a tour of the Alcazar Hotel and the unique heating system that has been recently restored.
In addition to the planning meeting in October, NOCSIA sponsored tours of Empire Plow (March) and Cleveland Gear (September). In February a NOCSIA sponsored a showing of the film “”Devils Oven: the fire in the heart of the little cities of black diamonds” and a Q&A with the filmmaker.
Past President, Carol Poh, encouraged NOCSIA members to also join our parent organization, the Society for Industrial Archeology.
The speaker for the annual meeting was Dan Ruminski talking about the Walter White family and the White Motor Company.
